About

The City Comes Alive began in 2010, originally as True Love & High Adventure. Dustin Davis and Zach Olson first met in a college songwriting class and instantly bonded over their shared love for The Maine. It felt like fate, and we knew right away that we were meant to make music together. Dustin poured his heart into crafting deeply emotional songs from his real-life experiences, while Zach brought his own magical touch on keyboards, lead guitar, and background vocals.

We had some unforgettable early moments, from rocking out at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle to clinching first place in a battle of the bands at Studio 7. As our sound evolved, we rebranded as The City Comes Alive to reflect our love for the stunning city skylines of the Pacific Northwest and our desire to bring that vibrant energy to every place we played. We hit the road, touring the West Coast in a 15-passenger van, and in 2016, we released our debut album, "This Summer Changed Us Forever & Winter’s Even Better". Featuring singles like "Wizard" and "Eyes Like the Sea," the album, greatly influenced by bands like Goo Goo Dolls and Lydia, captured the highs and lows of Dustin’s family life at the time. It’s still available on all streaming platforms.

After taking a hiatus to focus on our personal lives, our passion for music never wavered. Dustin and Zach reconnected in 2023 with renewed energy, embracing a fresh pop sound influenced by artists like LANY, Fun., MUNA, Ed Sheeran, The 1975, and The Band CAMINO.
